FAQ.

Location

Mile High Makeup & Skin is located in one of the Historic William Lang homes. (He is the same architect known for the famous Molly Brown House, as well as many historic buildings around Denver). The building is identifiable by its red stone and green awning. It’s located in the middle of 16th St and 17th St on the left hand side.

The studio is located on the 2nd floor of the building, the door directly to the left.

Parking

There is free parking on the North side of my building. As you drive down Washington St, it is the lot right before the building. The street has free 2 hour parking (please be aware of street sweeping days). A parking pass for the lot is not needed but can be provided upon request.

The Studio

The Mile High Makeup & Skin Studio is a neighbourhood skin care studio. It is independently owned and operated. The studio is small, so we ask that you wait in the hall until your appointment time. There are chairs outside of the studio door where you can wait.

Accessibility

The studio is made for all people. Unfortunately, the building, which is from the early 1900s, is not wheel chair accessible and the building does not have an elevator to get to the 2nd floor. If coming to the studio is not accessible to you, I have some amazing estheticians I can refer you to.

First Time? What to expect.

Whether this is you first facial/beauty service or just your first time to the studio, we’re here to help you feel comfortable and prepared.

  • What should I wear (especially for facials)?

    • Wear whatever makes you the most comfortable. We provide a clean robe for every client, but it is not a requirement to wear it. It’s ok if you come straight from work in your suit, in your gym clothes or in your pajamas. You’ll have privacy to change. It’s up to you if you want to stay fully clothed, use the robe, go topless, or anything in between. If you decide to keep any type of top or jacket on, we will try my best to keep your clothes dry and clean but this can not be guaranteed.

  • Can I wear makeup? What about my hair?

    • Feel free to wear makeup. We will always cleanse the area of service thoroughly. We cannot promise you will leave with the hairstyle you arrived in. For all facials we provide a clean headband. Feel free to wear in any style but for most services you will be laying on your back so think of what will be most comfortable.

  • What will I look like when I leave?

    • This depends on what service you receive. For facials, most people leave with some level of redness in the skin that lasts various amounts of time depending on the specific service and your skin type. The skin might also appear shiny as topical products and sun protection finish absorbing. Any facial waxing tends to leave the area pink or red.

Week of & Day of Tips

Pre and Post care information varies by service and skin type. Your esthetician will give you any information specific to your needs. Please ask any questions you have prior, during or after your appointment. Generally, clients are advised to drink plenty of water before and after the appointment. After most appointments, it’s not advised to swim, use a sauna, work out, wear makeup, wax or have any pro-longed sun exposure.
